Tram number 28 in Lisbon connects Matrim Moniz to Campo Ourique and crosses the famous tourist districts of Graca, Alfama, Baixa and Estrela. For visitors, this is the classic Lisbon sightseeing tour aboard a picturesque yellow tram that strides and clatters through the narrow streets of the city. Lisbon are still an integral part of the public transport network. These historic trams are still used because the line 28 is not suitable for modern trams due to the many tight curves and steep climbs and descents.
A ride along the 28 tram route is one of the best tours of the capital and many consider it one of the main attractions of a vacation in Lisbon. This article illustrates the route of the tram number 28 and includes rates, tips for tourists and the list of the most famous places of interest that you will encounter along the way.
